Changelog: Naksu 2 Server Management Tool
Version 5.4.1 (2026-04-17)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application/underlying tool ytl-linux-digabi2-examnet:
- Ensure certificate can always be retrieved when using exam network mode, even if KTP is using another exam network KTP as DNS, which would previously prevent certificate retrieval
- Further fixes to bugs that prevent uploading logs to Abitti support; log files are now copied to a temporary directory for uploading to avoid interference
Version 5.3.0 (2026-04-08)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application/underlying tool ytl-linux-digabi2-examnet:
- A new, more reliable mechanism for the custom server name feature has been added under the hood; this mechanism is much less likely to be disrupted by variances in network and client device configuration posture
- For this change to take effect, currently existing network settings must be saved again
- Updated open network certificate retrieval system for better speed and reliability; the same IP address and same API key will now receive the same certificate for as long as it is valid
- Naksu will now bind the Abitti 2 server to listen only on the selected (internal) network device, not all network devices
- Fixed an issue that would cause Naksu 2 to be unable to upload logs to Abitti support
- Fixed a bug that caused the warning about an expiring certificate to be shown even though the certificate had already been renewed
- When a network interface’s IP address changes, the selected network interface is reset
Version 5.2.0 (2026-03-05)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application:
- Available disk space is shown for the user when using the closed exam network
Version 5.1.1 (2026-02-10)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application:
- Fixed an issue where certificate download would fail due to incorrect file permissions
- Fixed an issue which could potentially cause fetching network devices to hang in certain conditions
- Updated instruction links to point to the correct pages in the reworked abitti.fi
Version 5.1.0 (2026-02-06)
Changes to Naksu 2 application:
- Fixed an issue where the UI would display incorrect or outdated network interfaces when removing exam network settings
- In exam network mode, the server certificate is automatically refreshed on server restart when certificate is expiring in the next 14 days
- Fixed a localization issue that caused some buttons to show text in the previous language when language was switched
- The old UI has been removed, along with the “Beta” menu
Version 5.0.0 (2026-01-23)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application:
- New Naksu 2 UI is shown by default.
- Dialogs are always correctly shown on top of all other elements. Dialogs can be closed with Esc button or by clicking outside of them.
- Fixed an issue where sending logs to Abitti support would fail if a file could not be read, and where Naksu would try to upload partially synchronized server logs, causing this issue.
Changes to the underlying YTL Linux:
- Fixed an issue where Windows clients were unable to resolve the correct IP address for server friendly names.
Version 4.7.0 (2026-01-21)
Changes to the Naksu 2 application:
- Allow setting internal network device to one that does not have an IP address in exam network mode; this is common in Abitti exam networks that are set up entirely empty, without any DHCP servers etc.
- Starting the server is now also allowed when exam network settings have been modified in the UI
- Fixed a bug that prevented generating open network certificates if exam network settings had been created
- If starting the server takes too long, a “Stop server” button will now be displayed after a certain time
- Fixed an issue that caused button busy spinners to not render in the application
- The application will now display a warning when the server certificate is about to expire within 14 days
Changes to the underlying tool ytl-linux-digabi2-examnet:
- Correctly detect and stop exam network settings creation if certificate is invalid
- Fixed an issue where a misconfigured exam network could not be reconfigured
- Fixed an issue where exam network could not be configured when the certificate directory was missing
- Fixed an issue where removing exam network configuration did not remove all relevant configurations, leaving the system in a partially broken state
